This week - as per - we’re diving into all sorts of stuff - community, the app, mental health, family and chaos, weekends of sport, and talking about the things that keep us grounded - particularly Leece and her commitment to doing things that help keep her well and feeling good. At first we chat quite a bit about the Move it Mama app, the connection some of us have been missing since the Spread the Sparkle Facebook days, and why that sense of community matters to us so much. We also get into the importance of moving your body, protecting your mental health, and carving out time for the habits that help you feel good - even when life is FULL and HARD. We know it's hard to do but we need to make a commitment to ourselves. Lots on the waffle agenda today and great to be together to dissect life's current ebbs and flows! Surprise! We've been meaning to record a follow up Book Club chat for some time - excuse our tardiness, but here we are. A lot to dissect in this one and in fact a surprising underlying question being: do you classify reading on a kindle, skimming sections and or audio books as actually reading? We'd love for you to weigh in! We know and understand that many of you cuss, nod and yell at us along the way in these episodes so feel free to do that or better yet get up close and vocal in our DMs - we love it all!! Today's episode sees us re-capping what we've read of late, what we're currently reading and a bit about what's up next. A few throw away insults and a couple of innuendos to boot and there you have it - fun. Thank you for your listening! The books we discussed are listed here for your reference -
Hello - a few days late after our work trip to Auckland and here we are. We kick off with a recap of the Baby Expo: the highs (food), the chaos and the joy of reconnecting with old friends and so many of you amazing members in real life. Then it’s on to more food highlights and the details, because well of course. We chat bodyweight and loaded workouts, how each one fits, and why strength training is worth making room for. That leads us into our next challenge, Finish Strong, kicking off Monday 2 November. We break down what’s involved - 2x strength sessions following an upper and lower split, plus optional extra workouts, for 8 weeks up until 27 December - plus a few other exciting app updates you’ll want to know about (who loves a badge?). We talk a little about running 3km and why it has struck such a chord with so many of you. Whether you’re lacing up for the first time in years or coming back to it, we totally get why this simple goal feels more achievable and so good. Finishing off with a sparkle spreader of course - including a very special birthday shout-out to LJ FONG! 🎉 get those rubber gloves on gal (or pound that pavement) and get your earholes on it. Lotsa love xx To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here
Forgive us as we dive into this head first, accented and with some high level teen saga to offload (high level because we can't be rattling off all of the detail - we appreciate you'll understand). After offloading the biggest struggle at present we briefly talk to some trashy novels and a must watch trashy movie (hot dude). In otherwise exciting news, as of today, you can register yourself for our UPCOMING CHALLENGE. We're super pumped about this - our Finish Strong challenge will start on the 2nd November and we'll move together for 8 weeks. The purpose of this challenge is to FINISH STRONG at the end of the year - to end the year feeling awesome. We'd so love you to join us (free for members, options if you're not!) so go to our website for more info. We're otherwise ranting once again about EXERCISE in general, finding what works for you, the strength training info, the 3km JOG and all sorts of other tidbits like resilience and life being HARD! Nothing super unusual, in case you haven't picked up on that yet! Love you. We might be AWOL for one week as work takes us away, but WE WILL BE BACK! Back again - here there and everywhere as you've come to expect. We start with a rant about social media and the pain points of everything to do with it, motherhood confessions (that Jess is now over-analysing), parenting small children and parenting older children, coffee issues, a debrief from Leece after a few boujee nights away this past week and everything else in between. We look forward to our time together every week and we appreciate every one of you for downloading and listening to us rant. We joke at the end about taking a break from the pod but really, this is a valuable part to our week and we hope the same applies to you (even if we talk a lot of rubbish). We'd love to hear from you if you have any thoughts in this regard. Love and power to you, xx To learn more about Move it Mama visit our website www.moveitmama.co.nz Join the Move it Mama app on the App Store here and the Google Play store here
We had suggested we'd come back last week with a follow up episode but when we heard crickets and the week ran away with us we decided, we'll save it for Monday. We're glad we did as the chat seemed to flow today. We had few tense moments in the last week which we dissect on the pod. As you'll find out, it was nothing major at all and just goes to show we've got progress in some form. We talk about a fair bit today from an American intro and our love to the pets to sport injuries and infected toes, an article on black market peptides (we're not experts - we're just yapping about scenarios) to feeling flat and asking the question "is this it" to being sparky and reading spicy smut. Lots to cover and a few lols. We love you for listening. PS - regarding the peptide discussion, we are not experts on this topic and our discussion is just about the 'murky' nature of the discussion and the different ways people in our outer circles seem to be using them. The key point we missed saying is that black market peptides are unregulated and haven't been approved. A reminder too to only listen in on this if this is not a triggering conversation for you.
