Chafing the Dream NZ

Show Notes

Haere mai This episode Dwayne and Mal talked about training updates. Dwayne rambles about his attempts to slowly build his mileage up. Mal sadly talks about the possibility of her third bone injury. Most recent events we have are the Port Nikau 5k, Run the Bays, Kings Backyard Ultra, and Northland 100. Dwayne and Mal will be MCing for the Port Nikau so please come along to race a 5k and win some SWEET prizes plus all the fun family events. We reflect on our first ever event. We had so much fun hosting the Watchless Race! It truly was special and cool to see how closely accurate folks got from guessing their 3k times. Our winners were 18 seconds, 14 seconds, and ONLYL 4 seconds away. We can't wait to start teasing our next event for our one-year pod anniversary. We close this episode with some specific insights on how to make a B.L.T. sandwich and some lovely insight into Dwayne and Mal's relationship in the kitchen. Thanks y'all for the listens. This week Mal and Dwayne share their recent training progress, Mal has an updated lift program which she is very excited about and Dwayne is staring down the barrel of the Taupo 100km in a little over 3 weeks. They also go over the recent results from the local half marathon, as well as Dwayne's experience running as the 1:40 pacer. Lastly the up coming mile series has both Dwayne and Mal very excited. And it's not just that Mal is excited to hear a measurement in the imperial units. The track has a special place in her heart and she's hoping more people will discover this passion. So hold on to your earbuds as this might turn into a track podcast for a few weeks. If you want to sign up to race The Mile you can do so here: https://hatea.run/event/the-mile/ Entry closes 4th Oct.
