Pod Stallions 121: The Alien Franchise
What has two arms, two mouths and gets you right in the chest?
It's ALIEN, of course,
and since 1979 it's titular character has appeared (tho altered) in multiple big budget flicks, with varying and often disappointing results. With the new Alien: Romulus currently face-hugging the public in a retro way, we thought we'd cover the good, the bad and the Italian (yes, we get to the ALIEN rip-offs!) in our latest convo.
In cyberspace, everyone can hear you scream...from listening to the ALIEN-ating new episode of Pod Stallions!

Download the Show here It's October, and the witching weather is slowly upon us. Or it could be the wind whipping up from Outpost 31 in Antarctica as we're about to celebrate one of the seminal horror/sci-fi films of our lifetimes: John Carpenter's 'The Thing' (1982). There's not much more to say about the brilliance of Carpenter's masterpiece (to us, anyway), but in the spirit of creepy and spooky, we thought it was well past time to show it some love. It's also one of those movies that's synonymous with VHS rentals, and if you're like us, you rented it repeatedly to study all its nooks and crannies. We STILL do to this day: it has story, chills, great acting and characters, and the most extraordinary physical effects of its time, but there's still a little nugget or two to catch the first time. We even give some time to the ill-fated 2011 'prequel' Thing, and suggest a back-to-back viewing to enhance the original even more. It's never a bad time to throw on The Thing, but October belongs to fright, so no time like the present. Enjoy! And be sure to leave comments about who YOU think is The Thing in the closing credits!
