Show Notes
As the sun begins to set, you look around and realize that you’ve stayed out too late. It will be completely dark before you’re able to make it out of the woods. You’ve had this feeling for the last hour or so like you’re being watched, but every time you look up, there isn’t anyone, or anything, nearby. So you gather your things and move quickly to get back to your camp, those eyes, wherever they are, still lingering on you.You only make it a few meters before you hear rustling in the leaves behind you. You freeze. Turning around you see nothing. You breathe a sigh of relief, telling yourself that you’re just tense from the fleeting sunlight and it was probably a lizard or small animal of some kind. You continue walking, but there’s that sound again, a little closer this time. More quickly this time you turn around and scan the area. Still nothing. A nervous laugh escapes your throat involuntarily and you check every tree one last time before picking up the pace to a near jog along the trail out of the forest. But the noise is growing louder and faster, as if it's catching up to you, whatever it is. You turn again, this time catching a glimpse of a shadow ducking behind the tree a short distance from where you are standing. A cold sweat forms on your brow and a pit in your stomach. You’ve heard stories like this before, and you know that it never ends well for those who come face to face with a hidebehind.

While walking the aisles of an antique store or resale shop, I often think about the people who owned all of this stuff before it found itself here. You know, normal questions like: Who did it come from? What were they like? Are they still alive? Was their house haunted? Did they participate in any dark rituals that may have bound a demonic entity or disgruntled spirit to these items? Even though we may never know the answers to these questions, some of our listeners have encountered a ghost or two inside a thrift store or attached to an item they felt drawn to bring home and those are the stories we’ll be telling you in this episode! Get your coziest blanket, your warm mug of tea, and settle in with one eye on that antique piece of furniture you have sitting there in your room with you as we tell stories of haunted thrift stores, a pair of pants with a ghostly attachment, and a doll possessed by the spirit of its previous owner!

I feel like attempting to contact the spirits of the dead at least once is like a rite of passage for all who would have put themselves in the category of ‘spooky.’ And just as we’ve said so many times on this podcast, you never know what’s waiting for you in the darkness when you’re reaching out. Today, I’ve brought you several stories from our listeners who took a chance with a ouija board and made contact with something much darker than they intended!
