Today we’re talking about affirmative illusions. Ever wondered if you’re seeing the world as it really is, or just through whatever your eyes happen to be locked onto? James brought a three-legged elephant, a spinning circle, and a $20 bill trick of my own, and what started as fun optical illusions turned into a serious question: how much of what we see in our lives, our relationships, and even our politics is shaped by fear and past hurt instead of truth?
The good news is that Scripture shows us where to look. Romans 12, Philippians 4, and Hebrews 12 teach us how God renews our minds so our beliefs line up with reality, not the other way around.

God says “do not murder.” Then he commands the death penalty. Is that a contradiction? I don’t think so, and I want to walk through why.
I just had my 56th birthday, and this morning I was reading my Bible when a thought hit me: what if life is actually The Hunger Games?
Can you manifest the life you want just by believing hard enough? James and I dig into the viral manifestation trend, why so much of it has crept into the church, and why I’m grateful God doesn’t always give me what I want. Let Him write your story. He knows the best ones.
This Monday, let’s talk about the fear of making the wrong decision. The wrong job, the wrong move, the wrong relationship. I wrestled with that worry for decades until I discovered something that gave me real peace: God reroutes.
Christa Pike tortured and murdered a 19-year-old girl in 1995. Last month, Tennessee tried to execute her, and she survived. Now the question is whether they get to try again. I want to go beyond the headlines and ask what God actually says about capital punishment, because forgiveness and justice aren’t enemies. Where do you stand? Tell me in the comments, and bring your Bible.
