In 2014, 66 year old Christine Lee and her 40 year old daughter Lucy Lee were shot and killed by Christine’s partner 82 year old John Lowe.
Lowe was a violent and controlling man who had a history of criminality and yet was allowed to retain his firearms licence and his shotguns. He killed Christine as she was planning to leave him and maintained the murders were an accident. This is a case with a lot of agency engagement and red flags and clear systemic failings towards the victims.
