Deep Dive into Gospel Missions (Acts 13:49) by Charles Spurgeon
In this sermon, Charles Spurgeon addresses the underlying causes of limited success in gospel missions and church evangelism compared to ancient times. He argues that modern believers fall short in four primary areas: lacking Apostolic men with deep zeal, faith, and self-denial; failing to use an Apostolic style focused primarily on bold preaching and divine authority rather than debates; lacking Apostolic churches characterized by fervent prayer and generosity; and lacking the necessary measure of the Holy Spirit. Despite these current shortcomings, the speaker expresses hope that a spiritual awakening is possible if Christians reject modern lethargy and recommit themselves fully to saving souls.
