The Paleface Parabola

Show Notes

This bruised warrior is this post away from piling up the zzz’s, aka achieving a nocturnal night move, aka sleep. It was a beautiful autumn evening to make radio noise for your entertainment dollar on this Wednesday, October 15. So we did.

The Mystery Man and I lobbed music and off mic banter for our show within a show, and the Big Guy bore witness to our shenanigans at Studio A. Just some of those shenanigans included at our Oaf Without Borders radio two-hour tour de farce of word, sound and power on display, featured power anthems by some of the biggest and the the humble starring the following (because we don’t discriminate).

The Sun Ra Arkestra, Leon Bridges, The Electric Flag, The Elmer Gantry Velvet Orchestra, and Kim Gordon from my treasure chest - and the Mystery Man went Americana on our arses, with Steve Martin.

We then escaped by the light of the autumnal silvery moon to presumably play another day from the Good Ship Free FM 89.0 out of Hamilton NZ, and out of sight to the average postmodern boy and girl.

I went for an IV of iron this week as I’m anaemic. I was told it would take six to eight weeks to take effect. Hmmm... So why was I able to lift a car today with no help, I wonder.

Being but a pawn in game of life... I humbly arrive at your feed to tell the countryside AND yourself to carve out two hours of time, and to spend that time with the Mystery Man, our behind the scenes team, and me.

You are trouble bound this week, you fans of the Paleface Parabolic romp and stomp. We arrived at Studio A with an agenda of escape for the oppressed and the well to do alike. It's a tightrope walk, this radio hosting predicament is. You can’t see the audience reaction to what you the host is portraying as entertainment. Every week is a tabula Rasa way of dealing the cards. This week it was musical hopscotch and no other description makes sense. Well, maybe mayhem would work. The Small Faces, The Shufflers, Ron Carter & Ricky Dillard, The Stepkids, and Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters stepped up and earned their keep AND there’s more at the door and the Mystery Man vis a man named Conlan did the Tango to complete our journey. Cmon if yer comin!
