The ‘Galway City – Your Council’ Podcast is back! In the first episode of the new series, we meet Galway City Council’s Community Climate Action Officer Tiarnan McCusker.
Tiarnan has extensive experience working with children and young people taking positive action for the environment, as a Green-Schools Travel Officer, and Environmental Awareness Officer in Galway City council.
Tiarnan talks to Fergal about changing the narrative around Climate to one of positive action, and some of the Climate Action projects and initiatives on-going in Galway City Council.
The ‘Galway City - Your Council’ podcast introduces some of the people delivering these services, and the valuable work they do every day in our city.

Tá sraith nua den phodchraoladh ‘Galway City – Your Council’ ag teacht!
Sa chéad eagrán den tsraith nua, cloistear ó Thiarnan McCusker, Oifigeach Ghníomhaíocht an Phobail i leith na hAeráide.
Tá taithí leitheadach ag Tiarnan ar oibriú le leanaí agus le daoine óga a dhéanann beart fónta i leith na timpeallachta agus é ag feidhmiú ina Oifigeach Taistil Scoileanna Glasa agus ina Oifigeach Feasachta Comhshaoil le Comhairle Cathrach na Gaillimhe.
Pléann Tiarnan agus Fergal athrú a chur ar an gcaint faoi chúrsaí Aeráide gur beartaíocht thairbheach chun cinn a bhíonn á plé (agus á déanamh) chomh maith le trácht ar roinnt de na tograí agus de na tionscnaimh maidir le cúrsaí Aeráide atá ar siúl faoi láthair ag Comhairle Cathrach na Gaillimhe.
Insíonn sé do Fergal cé mar a spreagadh a chuid suime i gcúrsaí comhshaoil, seachtain san áireamh a chaith sé ina dhéagóir i mbun saoirseachta faoin aer ar bhallaí cloiche i bhFear Manach le hOibrithe Deonacha Caomhnúcháin, chomh maith le staidéar a dhéanamh ar an Tíreolaíocht i Learpholl.
Cuirtear i láthair leis an bpodchraoladh ‘Galway City - Your Council’ roinnt de na daoine a chuireann na seirbhísí sin ar fáil agus an obair fhiúntach a dhéanann siad ó lá go lá do mhuintir na cathrach.
Más mian leat daoine a mholadh ar mhaith leat cloisteáil uathu, nó ábhar a mbeadh suim agat ann, cuir scéal chuig [email protected]
Is féidir cluas a thabhairt don tsraith cibé modh a dtapaíonn tú ábhar podchraoltóireachta nó sruthchraoladh a dhéanamh ar GalwayCity.ie/Podcast
