Social media can be a boost to your mood and your success. But, all too often people can become a slave to it rather than have it be a resource to them. It can have a detrimental effect to productivity, mood and self-esteem.
In this episode I am in conversation with business coach Susan Tomlinson who started off a sceptic, moved onto become a fan and then found herself being controlled by it until she decided to take things in hand.
So how to tame the tiger that is social media? If you find yourself scrolling mindlessly and finding that you have lost time you couldn't afford, or you intended to cheer yourself up and you ended up wanting to self-medicate with a slice of cake or three, then the strategies shared here will certainly help you.
Do listen right the way through - there is a powerful question towards the end that everyone needs to ask themselves to avoid being sucked into a scrolling binge. And there is also something about the unexpected gift that rationalising your social media can give you.
There is something here for everyone, whether you are a business user or someone who just wants to connect with others.
We would love to hear your comments about how you have been able to get a better handle on your social media, or perhaps detoxed completely.
Do pease like, comment and share. You never know when it might land just at the right time for someone.

There is a lot more understanding these days about narcissism. But less is understood about what it is like growing up with a narcissistic parent. In this episode I am conversation with Mariette Jansen who is a fellow therapist and author and who has direct experience of this issue.
ADHD (Attention Deficity and Hyperactivity Disorder) is a form of neuro-diversity that affects people in their day to day lives. In this latest in my How to Manage Stress interviews, I am in conversation with podcaster Michelle Ford who has relatively recently been diagnosed.
Though we all breathe (I know, profound!), few of us breathe in a way that supports our feelings of wellbeing. Breakthwork can be used to calm us when we are stressed, invigorate us when we are depleted, improve productivity and balance us when we feel discombobulated.
