Deep Dive into One Body in Christ and Members of One Another (Romans 12:4-5)
These theological texts provide an in-depth exposition of Romans 12:4–5, explaining the church not as a human social club, but as a living body in Christ. Believers are spiritually united to the Savior and, consequently, individually members one of another. While the texts employ different styles—one focusing on pastoral encouragement and the other on a rigorous Reformed, confessional exegesis—both emphasize that the church possesses sovereign diversity. Just as a physical body features many parts with distinct functions, believers must reject both proud self-sufficiency and envious despondency to actively serve the covenant community.
