Give not that which is holy unto the dogs: Matthew 7:6 (KJV) — they trample holy things, then turn again and rend you. Sermon on the Mount Pt 32: Matt Hepner and TopLobsta unpack dogs, swine, walking away, and why rend is what a demon does.
After Pt 31's pearls-before-swine setup, we stay in Matthew 7:6 and watch Paul shake his raiment in Acts 18 and Acts 20: "your blood be upon your own heads." 2 Timothy 3 names perilous men in the church; 2 Peter 2 shows the dog returned to his vomit and the sow to the mire — false teachers who monetize holy things. Blue Letter Bible on "rend" lands on Mark 9:18 and Luke 9:42: the same word for a demon throwing a person down. "Holy" can mean saints; pearls can be people (Matthew 13:45-46).
