73. Can Moms Make Music at Home and Stay Present With Their Kids?
The Heart of a Singer - Vocal Rehab, Vocal Warm-ups, Christian Musician, Breathing Technique, Singing LessonsShow Notes
Have you ever wished you could sing at home but felt like you had zero capacity—with kids hanging off you, asking for snacks, and food messes to clean up again and again? Maybe you used to have time to sit at the piano and sing, but now that kind of personal time feels like an unattainable luxury. At the same time, you’d love for your kids to grow up around music and learn to sing. But whenever you put on your favorite music to sing along, they really don’t like it! You might find yourself wishing for kid-free time to make music, yet when that time comes, there are always other priorities waiting. So how do you balance all of this? Is it even possible to make meaningful music with your kids around? I believe it is—but it starts with a mindset shift. I invite you into this important conversation so that you can engage in the life-giving act of making music again. Blessings, Sarah 🌟

Maybe you’ve been wanting to make progress with your voice… but what you’ve been trying isn’t really working.
Have you been wondering, Is something wrong with my voice?
If your voice feels tired, unsupported, or strained—especially after singing or even just talking for a short time—you’re not alone. Many moms are faithfully doing pelvic floor exercises and still feel disconnected from real vocal support. In this episode, I want to gently shift the focus away from “trying harder” and toward something that often gets overlooked: alignment. When your body is aligned, your pelvic floor and breath can actually work together the way they were designed to. I’ll walk you through a simple, restful floor position using the wall and a few pillows that helps reset your ribcage, diaphragm, and pelvic floor. This isn’t about effort or force—it’s about giving your body the space it needs so you can finally feel pelvic floor engagement. If you’re a tired mama, postpartum singer, or feeling frustrated with vocal fatigue, this gentle practice can bring more ease, support, and confidence back into your voice in just a few minutes a day.
As a mom, it’s easy to feel discouraged about your singing—especially if your voice doesn’t feel the way it used to, you don’t have time to practice, or lessons feel out of reach. If you can relate, then I invite you into a perspective shift that will help you sing more this year. Instead of focusing on insecurities or limitations, you’ll be encouraged to see singing as a tool for joy, service, connection, and passing something meaningful on to others.
