The GYST of It - Anxiety and Self-Confidence Advice, Guides and ConversationsShow Notes
This progressive muscle relaxation has been recorded over the sound of gentle waves crashing onto the beach. You'll find that there's no nonsense, woo-woo or fluff in this PMR just a simple to follow audio which will get to gain deeper awareness of your body and relax it all part by part. *****************************************************
A progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) is a well-researched and documented away of bringing about a deep state of relaxation. In this PMR I'll be instructing you to become aware of a particular body part and then to either actually contract the muscles or just imagine contracting them - before releasing the tension again. Please note that if you have an injury to any of the body parts mentioned the tension should only be imagined not actually created.

PMR has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety. It can also help to lower your heart rate. This makes it a great thing to do during particularly stressful times, such as before an exam or after you’ve had an argument. Multiple studies have shown that PMR can have physical benefits too, including reduction in blood pressure and improvement of overall quality of life.
