'Maresca can be RUTHLESS': Donnarumma has to do better | City need to step up against Brighton

Manchester City faces scrutiny following their recent defeat to Aston Villa, marking their first league loss of the season. The match, held at Villa Park, was characterized by a strange atmosphere due to ongoing stadium renovations, which left the venue with only three stands. City struggled to find their rhythm early on, conceding a goal within the first ten minutes. Despite a strong performance in the first half, where they created numerous chances, they ultimately fell short, losing 2-1.

The defeat raises questions about City's defensive vulnerabilities and the effectiveness of their midfield trio. Manager Enzo Maresca's tactical decisions are under the spotlight, particularly regarding player selections and substitutions. The performance of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is also scrutinized, as he failed to make crucial saves that could have altered the game's outcome. As City prepares for upcoming matches, including a Carabao Cup tie against Brighton, the team must address these issues to regain momentum and confidence.

Alex James is joined by SImon Bajkowski to look back at City's first Premier League loss of the season against Aston Villa, where they failed to take their chances.

What does Maresca's side need to do to step up against Brighton TWICE this week? And are City fans embracing Donnarumma as No. 1?
