Abu Kir the Dyer and Abu Sir the Barber P1丨Aesop’s Fables from Every Land

A barber named Abu Sir struggles with poverty despite his skills and hard work. His neighbor, a dyer named Abu Kir, suggests they embark on an adventure to improve their fortunes. They board a ship to a distant country, but while the barber diligently cuts hair to earn money, the dyer feigns seasickness and takes advantage of the barber's kindness by eating the food meant for him. After 21 days at sea, the barber falls ill and, upon recovering, discovers that the dyer has stolen all his hard-earned money.

Upon arriving in the new land, the barber learns that the dyer has established a successful dyeing business, which initially brings him relief. However, when he confronts the dyer, he is met with hostility and is thrown out of the shop. Heartbroken, the barber decides to seek a new path and proposes the idea of a bathhouse to the king, who is intrigued by the concept. With royal support, the barber builds a bathhouse that becomes popular and allows him to gain wealth while helping the community.

As the barber's fortunes rise, the dyer, hearing of his success, attempts to reconcile by visiting him. The barber, recalling the dyer's previous betrayal, is initially hesitant but ultimately chooses to forgive him. The episode ends with a hint of future developments, leaving listeners curious about the dyer's intentions.
