Well hello there, friend. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you've carved out this little pocket of time for yourself today. Early morning on a Tuesday, huh? That's the time when the world feels like it's already asking something of you before you've even had your coffee, isn't it? Today, we're going to practice something I call "The Unclench." It's my favorite way to remind your whole body that it's actually allowed to let go.
So find yourself somewhere comfortable, sitting or lying down, wherever your body feels most at home right now. There's no wrong answer here. Go ahead and close your eyes whenever that feels right, or soften your gaze if you prefer. Just let your shoulders drop away from your ears. Notice how they're probably hanging around up there like worried guests at a party. Let's invite them to relax.
I want you to start by taking three deep breaths, but not the kind where you're trying to prove anything to your lungs. Breathe like you're smelling something wonderful baking in the oven. In through your nose for a count of four, holding for four, and out through your mouth for six. The longer exhale is key here, by the way. That's where the magic happens. Let's do that together. Breathing in... two, three, four. Holding... two, three, four. And releasing... two, three, four, five, six.
Now here's where it gets really good. I want you to imagine a warm, golden light starting at the very top of your head. This light is relaxation itself, and it's got nowhere to be but here. As you breathe out, let this warmth travel down through your forehead, melting away any tension you've been storing there like old receipts. Your jaw releases. Your neck softens. Continue with each exhale, letting this golden light move through your shoulders, your chest, your belly. Imagine it's a gentle river moving through you, and your job is simply to not resist it.
Notice any tight spots. Don't fight them. Just breathe into them with curiosity, like you're making friends with an old worry. Your lower back, your hips, your legs, all the way down to the soles of your feet. By the time this light reaches the ground, you've given yourself permission to simply be. Just be here, breathing, existing, completely enough.
When you're ready, start to deepen your breath just slightly and gently open your eyes. Before you jump back into your day, try this: pick one moment today, maybe during your lunch or your commute, where you'll pause and do one round of that longer exhale. Just one. That's your anchor back to this calm.
Thank you so much for joining me for Relaxation. Please do subscribe so you never miss a practice, and remember, the best gift you can give anyone today is a version of you that actually rested.

You know, it's early morning on a Tuesday, and I'm willing to bet that your mind is already spinning like a ceiling fan on high, isn't it? Maybe you woke up thinking about everything on your plate, or perhaps you're carrying tension from yesterday that just didn't quite release. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know that taking this time for yourself right now? That's already the hardest part done.
Hey there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here. You know, it's early Saturday morning, and I'm guessing you might be feeling that familiar tug between wanting to ease into your day and the pressure to get moving. This is your space for relaxation, and I promise you, the world can wait for the next few minutes.
Hey there, friend. Welcome. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here. You know, it's Thursday morning, and if you're anything like my friends right now, you might be feeling that particular kind of tired where your shoulders have basically become your earrings and your to-do list feels like it was written by someone who doesn't sleep. So today, we're doing something special. We're not rushing through relaxation. We're actually going to sink into it. Together.
Hey there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. It's early Sunday morning, that in-between time when the world feels a little quieter, and honestly, that's the perfect moment to hit pause. I know your week might be creeping up on you already, or maybe you're still recovering from the last one, so let's just take a few minutes together to remember what it feels like to actually be here, right now, without anywhere else to be.
