The Three Breath Reset: Your Secret to Calm Anywhere, Anytime
"Mindful Moments: Daily Breathing Exercises for Relaxation"Show Notes
Well hello there, friend. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you've found your way here today. You know, it's early morning on a Tuesday, and I'm willing to bet that your mind is already spinning like a ceiling fan on high, isn't it? Maybe you woke up thinking about everything on your plate, or perhaps you're carrying tension from yesterday that just didn't quite release. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know that taking this time for yourself right now? That's already the hardest part done.
So let's settle in together. Find a comfortable spot, whether that's your couch, your bed, or even just sitting upright in a chair. There's no wrong way to do this. Let your shoulders drop away from your ears, and just notice where your body naturally wants to rest. We're not trying to be perfect here. We're just trying to be present.
Now, I want to introduce you to something I call the three-breath reset. It's simple, but it's remarkably powerful because it works with your nervous system rather than against it. The magic is in the exhale, so pay attention there.
Take your first breath in through your nose for a count of four, imagining cool air filling your lungs like light flooding through a window. Now exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of six. Let it be like a warm breeze leaving your lips. Feel any tension just drift away on that exhale.
Do that again. In for four, deeply and naturally. And out for six, letting your whole body soften.
One more time. In for four, and out for six. Notice how your shoulders feel now, how your chest feels more spacious. That heaviness you might have felt? It's loosening its grip.
Here's the beautiful thing about this practice: you can do this anywhere, anytime. Waiting in line at the coffee shop? Three breaths. Before a difficult conversation? Three breaths. The exhale is your friend, your secret passage back to calm. Make it longer than the inhale, and your body remembers how to relax.
As you move through your day, remember that relaxation isn't about doing nothing. It's about doing this one simple thing over and over again until your nervous system finally believes you're safe. You are safe right now. You are enough.
Thank you so much for spending this time with me on the Relaxation podcast. If this practice resonated with you, please subscribe so you don't miss another episode. We're all in this together, learning how to breathe a little easier.

Hey there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and welcome to Relaxation. I'm so glad you're here, especially right now—early Thursday morning, October twenty-third. You know what? These pre-dawn hours can feel a little tender. That transition between sleep and the day ahead. A lot of us carry invisible tension in those quiet moments, almost like our bodies are bracing for what's coming. Today, I want to help you soften into your day instead.
Hey there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here. You know, it's early Saturday morning, and I'm guessing you might be feeling that familiar tug between wanting to ease into your day and the pressure to get moving. Maybe there's something on your mind, or maybe you're just running on empty. Either way, you've made the right choice by pressing play. This is your space for relaxation, and I promise you, the world can wait for the next few minutes.
Hey there, friend. Welcome. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here. You know, it's Thursday morning, and if you're anything like my friends right now, you might be feeling that particular kind of tired where your shoulders have basically become your earrings and your to-do list feels like it was written by someone who doesn't sleep. So today, we're doing something special. We're not rushing through relaxation. We're actually going to sink into it. Together.
Well hello there, friend. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you've carved out this little pocket of time for yourself today. Early morning on a Tuesday, huh? That's the time when the world feels like it's already asking something of you before you've even had your coffee, isn't it? Today, we're going to practice something I call "The Unclench." It's my favorite way to remind your whole body that it's actually allowed to let go.
