Show Notes
Once again,it’s time to attempt a paragraph or three which attempts to describe our programme, its co-conspirators, a daunting task in the best of times, which these certainly don’t feel like most of the time in 2026. However, music is medicine, more sustaining than aloe vera, and rewards the listener for a lifetime in wig city.
This week’s Paleface Parabola is a loose fitting key to the kingdom. When I went to my lab the other evening to nab the sounds for the show, I grumbled to myself that some racist tiptoed past us while I slept and stole the Black artists I was seeking out for airplay. Almost surely, they were simply misplaced in the wreckage of twice a week radio capers. What we did say, and what we succeeded in locating for your ears were the Ambertones, The Cramps, Al Staehley, Alejandro Escovedo Orchesta, Gabor Szabo, and the Mystery Man’s grab for the Gusto, Tablatura. Come on if yer Comin! We’d likely do this for ourselves if we had to, but it’s better if you be out there somewhere.
More from The Paleface Parabola
I went for an IV of iron this week as I’m anaemic. I was told it would take six to eight weeks to take effect. Hmmm... So why was I able to lift a car today with no help, I wonder.
This bruised warrior is this post away from piling up the zzz’s, aka achieving a nocturnal night move, aka sleep. It was a beautiful autumn evening to make radio noise for your entertainment dollar on this Wednesday, October 15. So we did.
Please join us for a sip from the overflowing cup of sounds that we hand pick to pass on to you dear friends, on this week’s foray into fun, aka the Paleface Parabola quest of two hours to leave a positive impression on you.
Being but a pawn in game of life... I humbly arrive at your feed to tell the countryside AND yourself to carve out two hours of time, and to spend that time with the Mystery Man, our behind the scenes team, and me.
Sinners and saints alike, have a seat at the table of Jerry’s holiday camp.
