Liverpool Need a Proper NUMBER SIX! Midfield Plans Questioned

LATE NIGHT LIVE WITH CRAIG | LIVERPOOL LATEST NEWS & DEBATE

Craig returns for another edition of Late Night Live, discussing Liverpool's midfield recruitment plans, major contract decisions and the long-term future of several key players at Anfield.

Alexis Mac Allister's future remains a major talking point, with Craig explaining why Liverpool should reconsider their contract position if the Argentine continues his impressive form. However, keeping Mac Allister would not solve every problem, with Craig insisting that the Reds still need to strengthen their midfield.

When asked which player he would love Liverpool to sign, Craig names Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo as his dream addition. He explains why a player of Caicedo's quality at the base of midfield could transform Andoni Iraola's side, even if a deal appears unrealistic.

Alisson Becker's future also comes under scrutiny, with Craig questioning whether the Brazilian goalkeeper could be approaching the end of his Liverpool career. With uncertainty surrounding his long-term position and several younger goalkeeping options at the club, could this be the natural moment for Liverpool to consider a transition?

Virgil van Dijk's contract situation is another difficult decision facing the Reds, with Craig acknowledging the arguments both for keeping the Liverpool captain and planning for life without him.

Elsewhere, Craig reflects on Liverpool's defensive performance against Brighton, praises Jeremy Jacquet's development and highlights Alexander Isak's clinical finishing.

There's also discussion about Liverpool's wider transfer ambitions, with Michael Olise and Lamine Yamal mentioned as dream attacking signings.

Do Liverpool need another defensive midfielder? Would Caicedo transform Iraola's side? Is Alisson approaching his final season? And what should Liverpool do about Van Dijk?

All this and more on Late Night Live with Craig.
