Abu Kir the Dyer and Abu Sir the Barber P2丨Aesop’s Fables from Every Land

A barber faces dire consequences after being falsely accused of plotting against the king. The dyer, motivated by deceit, convinces the barber to create a hair removal cream, which he then twists into a story of poison to manipulate the king. When the king arrives at the bathhouse to confront the barber, he mistakenly believes the cream is toxic and orders the barber to be thrown into the sea.

However, the barber is saved by a captain he once helped, who tricks the king by filling a sack with stones instead of the barber. In a twist of fate, the barber later finds the king's precious ring inside a fish, leading him to return it to the king and clear his name. The king, realizing he was misled by the dyer, initially seeks revenge but ultimately spares the dyer's life at the barber's request, allowing for a resolution that leaves the barber content and the king grateful.
