It’s Not What You Think with Julie Cochrane

It's Not What You Think - Episode 3, When You’ve Lost the Thread Back to Yourself

It’s Not What You Think with Julie Cochrane

Show Notes

In this episode of It’s Not What You Think, Julie explores what it means to lose connection with yourself and why it can happen so gradually that you may not even recognize it.

She looks at how early experiences can teach us to focus on what other people need, expect or approve of while paying less attention to our own feelings, preferences and internal signals. Over time, this can look like independence, capability or selflessness while making it increasingly difficult to know what we actually want.

Julie also explores the difference between intellectually understanding yourself and genuinely being connected to your own experience, including the signals your body may be giving you. The episode offers a simple starting point for reconnection: noticing the everyday moments when you hear yourself, override yourself or automatically look outside yourself for the answer.
