Samsung One UI 9 Update is Destroying Battery Life on S26, S25 & S24 Series Devices. How to Fix.
eSIM STUDIOS Podcast - Tech News + ReviewsSummary
The rollout of Samsung's One UI 9.0, which is based on Android 17, has sparked significant user complaints regarding performance issues and battery life. Many Galaxy device owners, particularly those with the S24 and S25 series, report experiencing stuttering, freezing, and a notable decline in battery performance since the update. While some users initially claimed their devices were functioning well, a growing number are now echoing concerns about the update's impact on their phones.
Specific reports indicate that some users are facing severe battery drain, with devices dying after just a few hours of use. Although the complaints represent a small percentage of the overall user base—estimated at around 5 to 10 percent—this still translates to a substantial number of affected devices given Samsung's large market share. Users experiencing these issues are advised to consider a factory reset without restoring previous data, as this may help eliminate corrupted files that could be contributing to the problems.
For those struggling with battery life, utilizing a battery monitoring application like GSAM Battery Monitor can help identify which apps or services are consuming excessive power. Users are encouraged to enable battery stats and keep their applications updated while awaiting a potential fix from Samsung, which is expected in the coming weeks. The company has a history of addressing similar issues in past updates, and many hope for a resolution soon.
