Are White People More British?

In this episode of The Brink, Andrew and Jake sit down for a conversation about British identity, immigration, and the growing battle over the future of the political right. The discussion examines the rise of ethno-nationalism and the rhetoric surrounding Rupert Lowe and Restore, asking where legitimate concerns about mass immigration and integration end and racial politics begin. Andrew and Jake explore what it actually means to be British and why identity cannot simply be reduced to ancestry, race, or religion.

They also turn to Islam in Britain, arguing that serious concerns around extremism, integration, and political Islam need to be confronted without treating millions of Muslims as a single hostile group. From British Muslims who have served in the armed forces to communities struggling with integration, they consider how Britain can defend its culture while avoiding the politics of collective blame.

Finally, the conversation looks at the influence of social media, populism, and foreign actors in pushing politics towards the extremes, and why simplistic solutions to Britain's problems risk destroying the very values they claim to protect.
