Summary
Marketers are increasingly recognizing the phenomenon of "bull spend," where ad campaigns generate impressive metrics like impressions but fail to translate into actual revenue. This disconnect often leads to frustration when results are reviewed by higher-ups. The discussion emphasizes the need for marketers to focus on tangible outcomes rather than superficial metrics, advocating for a more strategic approach to advertising that prioritizes return on investment.
The conversation also delves into the nature of social interactions, particularly the discomfort of engaging with individuals who hold strong, often obsessive beliefs. These "boars" may express intense opinions on various topics, but their fervor often masks deeper personal vulnerabilities. The discussion suggests that rather than confronting these views directly, it may be more effective to gently redirect conversations towards the personal experiences that shape these convictions, fostering a more genuine understanding of the underlying issues.
Ultimately, the dialogue highlights the importance of empathy in communication, encouraging individuals to consider the complex emotional backgrounds that inform others' perspectives, while also reflecting on how their own experiences influence their beliefs.

Many of us are walking around with an enormous secret burden: we deeply hate ourselves. That makes us very suspicious of anyone who likes us - and prone to staying in unfortunate romantic and professional situations that offer us far less than we deserve. We need to learn the art of becoming a better friend to ourselves.Uploaded 27-11-19Enjoying our Youtube videos? Or, whatever your outward circumstances and achievements, do you generally feel you are a piece of excrement, who has only got through life by deluding others (who would quickly abandon you if they knew even a fraction of the truth about you) and, because you are a liar, are only ever one or two steps away from deserved humiliation and catastrophe?...”MORE SCHOOL OF LIFEWatch more films on SELF in our playlist: http://bit.ly/TSOLselfSOCIAL MEDIAFeel free to follow us at the links below:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theschooloflifelondon/ X: https://twitter.com/TheSchoolOfLife Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theschooloflifelondon/ CREDITSProduced in collaboration with: Noelle Smith Designhttp://www.noellesmithdesign.com/ Title animation produced in collaboration withVale Productionshttps://www.valeproductions.co.uk/ Learn more about your ad choices. The human mind between the ages of one and ten is infinitely attuned to its environment. A somewhat cold forbidding father or an erratic mother really may be all that are required to breed an elevated degree of anxiety or self-hatred that colours the next eight decades.

The idea of ‘atonement’ sounds very old-fashioned and is deeply rooted in religious tradition. To atone means, in essence, to acknowledge one’s capacity for wrongness and one’s readiness for apology and desire for change. It’s a concept that every society needs at its center. Get the best of The School of Life delivered straight to your inbox: https://t.ly/MJ7xZFURTHER READING“‘Atonement’ is a slightly unfamiliar, old-fashioned and alien word. It means, according to the dictionary, the action of making amends for a wrong or injury and, especially in religious contexts, reparation or expiation for sin. The modern world chiefly believes that the rightful way to amend for a wrong is either to pay a fine or go to prison. These are, in certain circumstances, surely the best moves – but they fail to deal with what is, in the end, the far largest category of wrongs that humans commit: instances of everyday nastiness, error, foolishness, lack of empathy and shortsightedness. Fining or imprisoning on a mass scale is not realistic here and yet, leaving the wrongs unaddressed seems not quite right either. We need a procedure for atonement that is both real and functions outside of the judicial system…”You can read more on this and other subjects here: https://goo.gl/D9bsxVMORE SCHOOL OF LIFEWatch more films on RELATIONSHIPS in our playlist: http://bit.ly/TSOLrelationshipsSOCIAL MEDIAFeel free to follow us at the links below:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theschooloflifelondon/ X: https://twitter.com/TheSchoolOfLife Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theschooloflifelondon/ CREDITSProduced in collaboration with: Mike Boothhttps://www.youtube.com/somegreybloke #TheSchoolOfLife Learn more about your ad choices.
