S&U chairman hails £600m funding deal as a springboard for growth by 2030
Proactive - Interviews for investorsShow Notes
S&U PLC (LSE:SUS) chairman Anthony Coombs spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the group’s new £600 million funding facilities, which replace £330 million of existing arrangements at improved rates and support its next phase of growth.
Coombs described the deal as transformational, giving the group greater capacity to expand its Advantage Finance motor lending and Aspen property finance businesses. The facilities provide £350 million for Advantage and £250 million for Aspen.
Advantage is targeting a doubling or near-doubling of its loan book by 2030, with potential growth through motor dealers and aggregators alongside established broker relationships. Coombs stressed that expansion would not come at the expense of responsible lending, noting that the business currently accepts around 25% of applications.
He also discussed Aspen’s prospects and the importance of activity in the residential property market to future lending opportunities.
Coombs outlined how the additional funding could support profitable growth while maintaining disciplined underwriting, attractive returns on capital and sustainable finance for customers.
The interview explores the opportunities ahead for both businesses and the key factors that will shape S&U’s growth ambitions through 2030.
