Ep 52: I Didn’t Win $100,000 by Hustling- I Won by Healing My Relationship with Food and Body
Binge Free BestieShow Notes
I didn’t win because I hustled harder. I won because I healed first. In this episode, I’m sharing the real story behind my recent trip to LA- winning a business challenge, meeting Steven Bartlett, and being given $100,000 to invest into my future- and why none of it would have been possible without healing my relationship with food. For years, binge eating, restriction, and body obsession consumed my time, money, energy, and belief in myself. I truly thought my life would start after I fixed my body. It didn’t. In this episode, I talk openly about: My recovery journey from binge eating and body dysmorphia
Losing 50kg after bariatric surgery- and why weight loss didn’t save me
How fear of regain and diet rules actually fuelled binge eating
Why healing my nervous system changed everything
How food freedom created the capacity to build a business, take risks, and say yes to bigger opportunities
Why hustle wasn’t the reason I won- recovery was
I also share a powerful client story from inside The Break Up program, and why real, lasting change doesn’t come from willpower- it comes from the right support and structure.
Food takes up way too much mental space
You feel like your life is on hold until you “get control”
You’re tired of starting over every Monday
You know there’s more for you- but food keeps pulling you back

Spring often means one thing for your feed. The "summer body" ads are back, the gym marketing is ramping up, and diet culture is about to get loud. In this episode, I am breaking down why restriction, not willpower, is the actual binge trigger, how to spot diet culture hiding inside "wellness" content, and what to do instead of shrinking yourself for the season ahead.
In this episode, Emma Wright, a feminist health coach, shares insights on how societal power structures influence body image, dieting, and the use of medications like GLP-1s. We explore the intersection of feminism, health, and food, offering practical perspectives on reclaiming worth and navigating diet culture.
In this episode, Nic is joined by Alaina Booth for a conversation about courage, joy, and building a life that feels meaningful now, not after weight loss or perfection.
You've eaten fine all day. You're not even hungry. Then 9pm hits and you're standing in front of the pantry like it owes you money.
Everyone's talking about "food noise" right now. TikTok's obsessed with it, Oprah did a special on it, and it's basically the tagline for every GLP-1 ad you scroll past. But here's what nobody's telling you: half of what gets called food noise is just... hunger. And the other half is diet culture, dressed up in a scarier name so it can sell you a fix.
