Farage Calls Burnham A 'Liar'

Talk Breakfast

Show Notes

Jeremy Kyle reacts as about 650 more offenders are walking out of jail doors across England and Wales this morning in the second phase of the government’s emergency scheme to tackle the prison capacity crisis. This comes right on the heels of the 700 prisoners who were let out early on October 1st. Hard-working, law-abiding taxpayers are left asking one simple question: are we actually being kept safe?

And while we're letting hundreds out, what is life actually like on the inside for those who stay? Unbelievable reports in The Sun today reveal inmates at high-security Belmarsh prison are openly bragging about ordering McDonald's and streaming Netflix on illegal mobile phones—mocking the prison system as being 'more like a holiday camp'.

Meanwhile, the political gloves are completely off. Andy Burnham is facing a massive backlash after claiming Russian interference played a role in the 2016 Brexit referendum. Both Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage have blasted the PM’s claims as outright lies, accusing Downing Street of trying to rewrite history to justify closer ties with Brussels. When pressed to provide concrete evidence regarding Russian meddling, Foreign Office Minister Stephen Doughty declined to "get into specifics," though he maintained that "Russia clearly has attempted to interfere on a number of our democratic processes."

And speaking of Nigel Farage, Reform UK has unveiled its most drastic proposal yet—vowing to shut down the UK’s asylum system entirely for five years. Standing in front of a giant 43-foot replica migrant dinghy, Farage declared it’s time Britain got back to being a 'normal country,' threatening tariffs and flight bans against nations that refuse to take back illegal arrivals. And if that wasn't radical enough, Robert Jenrick has gone even further, insisting the Royal Navy should be authorised to use 'lethal force' against migrant boats in the Channel. Is this the tough stance Britain desperately needs, or is this a step too far in your view?

And astounding new figures reveal Britain has shelled out a staggering £1.6 trillion on working-age benefits over the last 20 years. Consider these jaw-dropping facts: More disability claims today than in the immediate aftermath of the First World War.

£1 billion spent on child benefits for behavioural conditions—money critics argue would be far better spent on direct therapy and intervention. The IMF issued a stern warning against massive state handouts as a high-stakes Budget looms.

Within hours, the Energy Secretary signals she’s going to block a massive, crucial oilfield right next door. I mean, are you joking?! Are we trying to power this country or bankrupt it?
