LIVERPOOL NEED A PROPER NO.6! Craig Demands Midfield Reinforcements

Craig returns for another edition of Late Night Live, discussing Liverpool's midfield recruitment needs, the club's contract strategy and the growing debate surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold's potential return from Real Madrid.

With Liverpool enjoying an improved run of results under Andoni Iraola, Craig argues that the squad still lacks a specialist defensive midfielder capable of providing the protection and control once offered by Fabinho.

Could Liverpool benefit from a player in the mould of N'Golo Kanté, Claude Makélélé or Javier Mascherano? And should the Reds prioritise a new No.6 in their next transfer window?

Attention also turns to Trey Nyoni's development, with Craig explaining why bringing in another midfielder would not necessarily block the youngster's pathway into the first team. With changes expected to Liverpool's midfield options, greater competition could prove essential.

Craig also questions Liverpool's wider contract management, particularly the uncertainty surrounding Alexis Mac Allister. Why does the club repeatedly risk losing valuable players without securing their full transfer value?

Trent Alexander-Arnold's potential Anfield return sparks another passionate discussion following Jamie Carragher's comments. Craig admits he would consider a reunion at the right price but insists Liverpool should not pay a substantial fee to rescue a player who chose to leave for Real Madrid.

There's also discussion about Liverpool's upcoming Carabao Cup meeting with Chelsea, Florian Wirtz's fitness and the importance of maintaining momentum before the Arsenal clash.

Should Liverpool prioritise a defensive midfielder? Would Trent be worth bringing back for £25million? And must the club change its approach to player contracts?

All this and more on Late Night Live with Craig.
