Ian Collins reacts as Tory Leader Kemi Badenoch has gone on the attack, accusing Prime Minister Andy Burnham of quietly gearing up for a surprise snap general election as early as next May. Badenoch claimed the Prime Minister’s economic rhetoric and policy tone clearly signal an early run for a fresh mandate. At the same time, Badenoch has firmly shut the door on any right-wing alliance, explicitly ruling out any electoral pact or deal with Reform UK.
However, over at Reform, Nigel Farage is seizing on Burnham’s recent stance on Brexit. Critics argue Burnham’s latest missteps over Europe have given Farage "the biggest boost of his political career," potentially paving Reform's path right toward Number 10.
