The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes | Old Time RadioShow Notes
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes presents “The Adventure of the Superfluous Pearl,” episode 130, originally broadcast May 22, 1944. This original radio drama by Edith Meiser stars Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson.
Holmes and Watson are summoned to a high-society reception by Lord Dameray, where a celebrated pearl necklace, a glamorous actress, and a contested engagement create an atmosphere of suspicion. As appearances and rivalries complicate the evening, Holmes keeps a close watch on the guests.
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
