Welcome to The Dark Side! Super Bowl Rematch with Patriots, Hard Knocks and Getting to Know Your Hosts

Welcome to the debut episode of THE DARK SIDE: A Podcast on the Seattle Seahawks! Your Super Bowl champion hosts Derick Hall and Byron Murphy II from the Seahawks’ Dark Side defense join KOMO Sports Director Niko Tamurian to get you ready for the 2026 NFL season and Seattle’s defense of their Super Bowl title!

For the inaugural episode, the guys have a lot to talk about. Derick and Byron explain why they wanted to start a podcast together and share just how deep the bond of an NFL locker room goes. The guys also reflect on the experience of being on Hard Knocks. Derick shares what it was like to be one of the most documented players this season of the HBO show.

The Seahawk defenders reflect on enjoying the offseason as Super Bowl champions. The guys also look forward to their excitement watching the banner drop as well as kicking off the 2026 NFL season playing the Patriots. The two jokingly reminisce on how Byron stole Derick’s sack in Super Bowl LX.

Our hosts discuss the unique scenario of the season kicking off on a Wednesday with a Super Bowl rematch against the New England Patriots. Derick and Byron talk about limiting distractions in order to make even the most unique season opener feel like just another game to get prepared for.

Finally, Byron and Derick discuss their excitement for the Texas and Auburn college football seasons respectively and the hope they have for their college squads.
