Byron Murphy II has 2 Sacks in Seahawks Loss to 49ers & Broncos Preview

Welcome to Episode 6 of THE DARK SIDE: a podcast on the Seattle Seahawks! Your Super Bowl champion hosts Derick Hall and Byron Murphy II from the Seahawks’ Dark Side defense join KOMO Sports Director Niko Tamurian to reflect on Seattle’s 3-2 record so far this season.

It’s a short week with Byron and Derick preparing for Thursday Night Football so Niko is solo in this first segment reacting to the 32-29 loss to the 49ers. He shares what makes this rivalry so competitive and what he believes were the deciding factors in this Seahawks loss second loss of the season.

Niko makes his argument that Seattle was the better team despite the loss and why he is so optimistic about the rest of the season. He is especially optimistic if the Seahawks can cut down on the 4 turnovers that led to a loss to San Francisco. He also breaks down the lessons he believes the Seahawks need to learn from this game so Mike Macdonald and company can grow from this.

Not to mention, Niko gives a huge shoutout to our very own co-host Byron Murphy II for his incredible 2 sack game against Brock Purdy and the 49ers. Byron has been candid on this podcast about how hard he worked to earn his first sack of the season and Niko is so happy to see his co-host add 2 more sacks to the season total.

Next is Niko’s postgame interview with Nehemiah Pritchett who helped create two turnovers in the NFC West brawl.

Our hosts then preview the upcoming Thursday Night Football matchup with the Broncos. Because of the short week from Sunday to Thursday, this conversation was recorded before the 49ers game.

Byron and Derick share how they prepare for Thursday Night games with less time to recover from Sunday's game. Both Derick and Byron also played with recent Broncos 1st round picks. Derick was in the same recruiting class as Bo Nix at Auburn while Byron was teammates with Jahdae Barron at Texas. The guys open up about how much fun it is to compete against a college teammate in the pros.
