The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes | Old Time RadioShow Notes
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes presents “In Flanders Field,” episode 179, originally broadcast on May 14, 1945. Basil Rathbone stars as Sherlock Holmes, with Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson.
During the First World War, Holmes and Watson are drawn from retirement to the British front lines in France after a Shakespearean actor entertaining the troops disappears. This original Holmes pastiche was written by Denis Green and Anthony Boucher and was broadcast on the Mutual Broadcasting System.
