The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - "The Limping Ghost" (Old Time Radio, 1945)
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes | Old Time RadioShow Notes
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes presents “The Limping Ghost,” episode 182, originally broadcast September 3, 1945. In this Mutual Broadcasting System season opener, Basil Rathbone stars as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson.
On a stormy winter evening, a young Scottish earl brings Holmes a chilling family legend: a limping apparition in armor is said to foretell disaster at Loch Nair Castle. Holmes and Watson journey north into snowbound Scotland to test old superstition against practical investigation. The original story was written by Denis Green and Anthony Boucher.
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
