The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes | Old Time RadioShow Notes
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes presents “The Mystery of Mrs Warren’s Key,” episode 61, originally broadcast on December 7, 1941. This archival installment stars Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson.
A troubled London landlady seeks Holmes’s help when her secretive new lodger pays generously for privacy, insists on keeping a key, and communicates only through notes left outside a locked room. Adapted by Edith Meiser from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Adventure of the Red Circle,” the mystery draws Holmes and Watson into a troubling trail of clues and coded communications.
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
