Better Dads Club Podcast

Show Notes

With decades of experience in mentoring, coaching and leadership, Michael Seery (The Grandpa Coach) now works with widowed men who are no longer in crisis but know they are drifting through life after the loss of their partner.

Drawing on his own journey after the death of his wife Neryl, Michael helps men rebuild identity, purpose and direction without feeling they are leaving their partner behind.

His work is not about “moving on” from love. It is about learning how to lead life again while still honouring the person they lost.

As an NLP Trainer and Master Practitioner, hypnosis coach and trainer, Michael combines practical, science-backed approaches with grounded conversation, accountability and lived understanding.

He creates a space where widowed men can stop simply surviving and start building a meaningful future again.

Michael does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. He coaches men through practical, safe and structured steps forward.

***Stop Putting Your Health on Hold. Take the first step with the Dad Bod Reset, our six-week small-group coaching programme designed for busy dads.*** What does it take to stay strong, healthy and active for your kids, not just today, but in 10, 20 or even 30 years? In this episode, Tom sits down with Dave Liow, exercise physiologist, founder of Holistic Movement Coach and father of two, to explore the importance of investing in your health for the long game of fatherhood. Both Tom and Dave became fathers later in life, and having spent decades working in health and wellness, they share a passion for helping dads stay healthy, capable and present as their children grow. In this conversation, they explore: The challenges of moving countries, rebuilding a business and raising a young family. Why strength, mobility and healthy habits become increasingly important as we age. How parents can support sporty teenagers without pushing them towards burnout or overtraining. Practical ways busy dads can prioritise their health without sacrificing family time. Why finding a deeper purpose is the key to lasting lifestyle changes. And perhaps most importantly, it's never too late to start. Whether you're in your 30s, 40s, 50s or 60s, even if you've never exercised before, positive changes are possible. Because looking after your health isn't just about living longer. It's about being able to participate in your children's lives, and one day, your grandchildren's too. Be Better for Your Kids.
